Plasthall ensured success for Eimskip

We set up a warehouse of 1,200 m2 in the port of Aarhus

– Plastic hall of 20×60 meters and six meters of free side height.
– Rigged and ready for use in just two weeks
– Solved the shipping company’s need for stock in record time

Iceland’s oldest shipping company, Eimskip, offers transport and logistics solutions. With 63 departments in 20 countries, they transport goods and handle a lot of logistics for large customers. From, among other things, the timber, machinery and windmill industry. This results in a quantity of goods that require a large storage space.

Eimskip leases an area in Aarhus harbour, and therefore cannot build a permanent warehouse. When the need for a new storage space came up, we at O.B Wiik were chosen as supplier. With our experience in warehousing and logistics, we were able to quickly adapt and set up a hall that met the shipping company’s needs.

Of several categories of halls, steel halls and industrial buildings, it was a plastic hall that became the solution for Eimskip. The plastic hall was adapted as needed, and became 20×60 meters with six meters of free side height. The steel construction ensures that the warehouse can withstand all kinds of weather. Solid materials with good design also ensure that the building has a very long durability. And durability was important both for the customer and the environment.

“A complete solution was in place just two weeks after the inspection. The only thing we have installed ourselves is LED lighting. This is our first, but certainly not the last, tent hall we buy,” says Jesper Sandahl, director of Eimskip. “At the start of the process, we considered having a steel hall set up. We have no previous experience with tents in Denmark. But several of our locations both in Iceland and the Faroe Islands have many years of good experience with similar, movable tents”, says our new and very satisfied customer.

Our halls, tents and storage buildings are designed to withstand extreme weather, and thus fit perfectly here in the north. Satisfied customers are what we make a living from.
